By 2040 Lamminrahka will be an attractive, all-new community of 8,000 residents and approximately 1,000 workplaces located on the edge of Tampere in Kangasala. The VT12 Lahdentie road runs alongside, providing quick and easy access to the centres of Tampere and Kangasala, along with other parts of the greater Tampere region. Two active bus lines between Tampere and Kangasala serve the community’s residents and what’s more, an extension to the Tampere tramline from TAYS Central Hospital and Koilliskeskus to Lamminrahka is under discussion.
An interchange and all the streets of the southern part of Lamminrahka have already been completed, and there are about 500 different kinds of apartments in the area. A school and a daycare centre at the heart of Lamminrahka were completed in 2023 and have been in operation since. The first grocery store is scheduled to open in a couple of years.
Lamminrahka is well on its way to becoming a leafy and attractive urban village that radiates the feel of an older town but with modern architecture. Everyday life in this friendly neighbourhood will be convenient, as everything is close by. Nature is easily accessible – for most residents it’s right on their doorstep. And there’s plenty to choose from: forest trails, 200km of jogging routes, the Kaarinanpolku hiking trail and roughly 100km of ski tracks. Lamminrahka is also home to a versatile sports park that includes an all-weather pitch, a skating rink and a padel field, as well as an ice hockey rink and a fitness park.
This is Lamminrahka – welcome!
